How to Host + Teach a Class

why host a class?

Hosting a class is one of the best ways to introduce friends and family to essential oils + Young Living.

It gives you dedicated time to share your experiences, find out what others need, and share the why and how to use essential oils + Young Living products.

With an in-person class, you get the added benefit of giving attendees the opportunity to smell and experience essential oils firsthand. Simply pass them around while you talk about the benefits of each oil.

With an online or Zoom class, you could send samples to attendees in advance to experience the oils. Or you can demonstrate uses for each oil or YL product.

Showing both why and how will help family + friends picture themselves using the oils too.

mark your calendar

Go through your calendar and schedule time to host at least 2 classes this month and next month.

Come up with ideas on what topics you'll cover in each of the classes. You could alternate between the different class scripts we have.

Have options so you can invite people to future classes if they cannot make the first one.

Go through your FRANK list to invite others to your classes:

A = Aquaintances

N = Neighbors

K = Kids (people you know through your kids)

Let them know you're hosting a class and tell them why they would be perfect to join in.

grab a script

Use one of these 4 scripts to choose from:

  • Essential Solutions (6 oils + diffuser)
  • Happy, Healthy Home (Thieves Cleaning)
  • Daily Wellness (NingXia Red)
  • Premium Starter Bundle (12 oils + diffuser)

You can print it out and use these scripts as a guide to teach your class.

The script is also a teaching tool to give to others who are interested in hosting their own classes.

Grab the scripts here.

practice

The class script will cover 5 main points:

  • What are essential oils?
  • How are essential oils made?
  • How do we use them?
  • Which ones do we use?
  • How do we get them?

Practice reading the script in advance to get a feel for the flow of the class.

share your stories

When your class is ready to begin, start with an introduction.

Ask others what they want to learn in the class. This will give you insight on what to highlight for them.

Share your transformation story before you get into the script. Talk about life before YL, why you decided to use oils, and then what life is like now.

As you talk about which oils to use (from the kit) share your own personal stories.

the closing

Be sure to close your class with the good, better, best options.

Do NOT close or wait to the end by asking if they have questions. Close out strong by showing them HOW to order.

Offer an incentive to anyone who wants to host their own class to get their starter kit paid for. Enrolling just 2 people (on 100 PV orders) will earn them $100 to pay for their kit.

Follow up with those who ordered, and offer to help them get set up with their starter kit. Ask them if they have friends and family who might want to attend a class they can host.
